10,000 visitors for $10…update!
Hey all
Just a quick update!
In my last post we looked at buying “guaranteed” traffic to build a list and if that traffic would convert blah blah blah…So today i’ve got the final stats for you – and it’s not pretty
Traffic cost – $10
Amount of traffic purchased – 10,000 unique visitors in the MLM niche
Final traffic count (unique visitors according to google analytics) – 4,924 – this leaves a deficit of 5,076 ????????
Total number of opt-ins from traffic (Drum roll please ……..) - ZERO – very impressive
Need I say more? I did agree to give ANYTHING a go and this was a pretty long shot by any stretch of the imagination. So please don’t try this! I did it so you don’t have to. It doesn’t work for building a list – end of story.
If you just want some impressive numbers on your google analytics then great, but don’t expect the traffic to actually be responsive that’s all.
I’ve got some other traffic generation methods in the pipeline so i’ll be testing them and keeping you updated.
Talk soon,
To your success, Nathaniel.
P.S Don’t try it thinking it’ll be different for you ‘coz it won’t…it just won’t!
Way to go Nathaniel,,
There are so many websites that offer list for sale — and get a lot of peoples money with the same results you got — ZERO opt ins???? Amazing.
We’ll keep in touch — drop by the blog — I’d appreciate any comments your might have.
To success
Rich
Hi Nathaniel,
You could not have said it any better…ZERO.
I to have purchased leads in the past and yes you are just wasting your money. I have not come across a source that delivers anything positive.
The biggest reason is the leads you purchased get used over and over again. I doesn’t seem to matter how old they are and even using targeted leads still have the same outcome.
When you really sit back and think about it, I guess that is why our own inboxes are filled with junk mail…
Thanks for the info and I hope this helps others out.

PS. Great looking blog, I love the graphics. Cheers to Alex Jeffreys…
Nathaniel,
At least you took action, and monitored your results… Did you know that puts
you in the top 1% of people in general.
Most people never make a move.
You did… Pat yourself on the back and don’t stop moving.
You’re going to the top.
Cheers,
Rob
Hi Nathaniel,
At least it was only $10 and you got to write up an interesting case study which will help other newbies.
My guess is that the traffic arriving on your site was not targetted.
Keep posting on the different methods your trying.
Talk soon,
John
Hey Nathaniel
I hadn’t visited you for awhile. Picked up your comment on Rob Canyon’s blog. He has a great thing going there.
To let you know, my giveaways are starting to pay off a little. I’ve been getting 15 to 20 opt ins per day for the past few days.
I’m noticing certain things that I have gifted to the giveaways do much better then others. I put together a group of ebooks and reports about energy conversation and alternative fuels. It seems to be pretty popular.
I’ve done some more work on my book but not ready to publish yet.
Stop by and visit sometime. And keep up the good work and sharing of good information.

Some really useful stuff here. Whilst the outcome isn’t ideal, at least it was only $10 and proves that these myriad of offers for traffic may partially do what they say (in terms of actual visits) but they do not deliver quality targeted leads/visitors which is the lifeblood of our businesses, and are therefore best avoided. I’m sure you won’t be the first or the last seduced by these type of offers and at least you can chalk one up for experience and have saved some of us the bother!
Thanks

Hey Nathaniel,
Thanks for sharing your learning experience. I think that for most of us, paying for traffic isn’t going to be worth the cost. As you have shown, even with almost 5,000 visitors, you had a 0% sign-up rate. Doesn’t matter how many visitors you have, 0% of anything is still 0. Most likely this is due to the traffic not being properly targeted, or they are so inundated with sign-ups that they are completely unresponsive. I think this is typical with this type of offer.
